DAYTON, OHIO—Reynolds Machinery completed installation of Ohio's first Hurco "SR" machine at the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), Wright Patterson Air Force Base.
The Hurco VMX60SR was purchased to machine parts for research projects designed by Air Force engineering graduate students.
Hurco's VMX60SR is a unique and versatile machine with its tilting head, large diameter rotary table and spacious stationary work surface. These features will allow AFIT to perform five-sided machining, drill/mill compound angles or contour mill any complex shape without repositioning the work piece.
The stationary work surface gives AFIT more options to place fixtures, vises or tall parts for second-op or simple three-axis machining
